He did his homework by kerosene lamp on a small Caribbean island, then played 13 seasons in the NBA. Adonal Foyle has spent his life proving the game is a classroom. Now he helps athletes, leaders and young people carry those lessons further.

Where it started

It started with a lamp.

On Canouan, a fishing island in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, electricity was scarce. Adonal rode a donkey to school and studied by the glow of a kerosene lamp after dark.

That light carried him to the United States at 15, to Colgate University, to the NBA and to a life of teaching, writing and building. Every chapter since has been about the same thing: making sure the next kid has the light he had.

True success is not just measured by personal achievement, but by how many lives you uplift along the way.
