In this book, Adonal Foyle presents seven matrices: Personal, Professional Sports, Family, Financial, Public, Charity, and Post-Career. The overall takeaway is that he wants athletes to appreciate what they already do on a day-to-day basis. By managing numerous elements of their lives, they are already doing the work of an Athlete CEO. It is the author’s hope that in reading this book athletes will recognize that they are indeed a small business.  Every Athlete CEO has a tremendous amount of cachet that he brings with him by virtue of being a professional in his particular sport. In some cases he has been in his profession between five and 20 years and has mastered numerous skills during his tenure. But an Athlete CEO must possess enough ambition to take him into the next phase of development. Part of the Athlete CEO Matrix is the ability to live in a perpetual state of evolution. The Athlete CEO must be constantly willing to adjust to circumstances on the fly.
