2004-05 Season Outlook
The 2004-05 season is now here and it's hard for me to believe that we're playing basketball again. Although I've put in a lot of hours in the weight room, the bike and on the basketball court, the summer went by too quickly. I'm very excited about a new season. I will be putting a lot more minutes onto the floor. And going by how we've done over the past two years, we have high hopes for this season.
Our team objective is to make the playoffs, plain and simple. And we will do whatever it takes to succeed. The bar has been raised because, in light of everything that has happened over the past two years, we need to continue to show that we are on the same page and that we are continuing to improve and get better. If we can do that, we will achieve our objective.
It will be a long season. Logging a lot of minutes means taking care of your body, and doing whatever it takes in order to be ready - game-in and game-out. I know it's going to be difficult. And I know I haven't been in this type of situation before. But it will be fun. I'm looking forward to doing it.
When it comes to the mental approach, I definitely have a different mindset. Now I know I will be putting in a lot of time on the court. In preparation for a game, I know I have to be mentally ready when my number is called upon. Also, before I started the game from the bench and thus could prepare from the sidelines. Once, I got in, I had the chance to break the other team's momentum. Now, I know that I will be going in there and taking a stab at the best players that are on the floor from the start of the game.
