Mid-season Team Assessment
At the start of 2007, we're flirting with .500 and in the thick of the Western Conference playoff hunt. In recent years, we wouldn't even be talking about the playoffs in January. But here we are. We're putting together wins against some very good teams. At the same time, we're dropping games to teams we should beat.
The fact that we've used so many different players in the starting lineup due to some players being banged up, that's part of the game. But it's also changed the dynamics of the team, for better or for worst. And I think we've been good at weathering the storm. We've started off strong, but we've hit a low. And then we came back and we're close to being at .500. So, I think it's a situation where we've been learning gradually. And it's something that will be beneficial in the long run.
When we're playing well, you can see that there are the elements needed for this team to be successful. Obviously, there are times when those elements are not there. And those are the gaps that need to be filled.
As we approach the second half of the season, I plan to continue my job on the basketball court, continue to enjoy the game and hope that whatever (or wherever) I will be, it will be in a place where people will want me. And that I can contribute to the team. It's the simple. I've always been a person that just goes out there and goes my job and not worry about anything else that's happening. And that's what I'm going to continue to do Ð represent myself the best way I know how and do the best job I can.
