March $10K Campaign

By Adonal Foyle

This is my birthday month. And when everyone asked me what I wanted for my birthday, I decided that the greatest gift would be to send a bunch of kids to my summer basketball camps in the Caribbean and give them the opportunity to have a great time, learning everything we want to teach them.

That, to me, is a much better present than anything I could think of.

At the start of the month, I've begun asking everyone - through my Web site, the Kerosene Lamp Foundation's Web site and Facebook - to donate $10 or more to the Kerosene Lamp Foundation and help me raise $10,000 so children from the Caribbean can attend my basketball camps this summer.

There are many ways to donate to KLF - We are selling $10 raffle tickets for great prizes like a signed Dwight Howard shoe or a signed Mickael Pietrus shoe. There's an option to donate $15 toward a book for a child, $70 toward hot meals, $150 toward camp T-Shirts and more. Finally, we have partnered up with The Cryptic Canvas to auction off fabulous jewelry, sports memorabilia, art, home dˇcor and more.

So far, we've had a lot of people logging on to the Web site to check out what we're doing. We've raised a lot of money in such a short period of time, but we're not there yet. We still have a long way to go so I encourage people to keep getting involved.

For more information, log on to www.kerosenelampfoundation.org and click to the "March $10K Campaign" for more information. All donors will have their name mentioned in my next KLF newsletter.

I appreciate all your support and generosity. Thank you, again!
